I don't know why the BBB has a good rating on this company when they are not professional or customer service oriented. When I call them they seem so friendly on the phone. And there asking cost to come out and see the problem was $49.00. But when the technician came to my house to diagnose the problem use a flash light for brief amount of time then close the hood. They wanted to charge enormous amount for a part that did not need to be replace on the hood. I call to another company that came the following week and took a look at my rang hood and told me that the part they were trying to sell me was in good working condition and did not need to be replace.

I asked if I could receive a refund for my $49 estimate charge, and I was told that "a service was provided". Do not waste your time calling for a refund because you will not get it back. They were dishonest to sell a part that was not the problem in the first place.

I DO NOT recommend Active Appliance Services located in van nuys, ca.

File a claim in your local Small Claims Court for the full $49.00 and explain exactly what happened. Include names, addresses and phone numbers of the Active Appliance Services branch that you dealt with and the other company that told you the part did not be replaced - include dates.

You must send a certified demand letter to Active Appliances, Inc. c/o ARTUR ASHKINAZI, Agent for Service of Process, 6736 VAN NUYS BLVD., VAN NUYS CA 91405, Entity ID No. C200**** NOTE: You can look up any corporation's agent for service of process at http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/ They cannot have an attorney represent them, you can include all court costs, postage, parking and other costs in your claim, in addition to the $49.00 Generally they pay the $49.00 rather than get sued but, if not, go to court and represent yourself, showing your receipts from both companies.

You have a better than 90% chance of getting full compensation. Make sure the demand letter clearly states the date you require payment (4 weeks from the date of the letter is sufficient) the amount you demand, a list of the extra costs you also want to be paid, where you want the payment sent and include the words; "This is my written demand for payment of ....:" The letter must be DATED and your full name and address must be included and you must SIGN it.

Claim for minor warranty repairs on an oven 29th august, came to house to repair on 10th September and the oven is now totally non functional. blames manufacturer for not ordering parts, but manufacturer states order for parts only received after i complain bitterly.
